Walks Hikes and Rides

A good place to start looking for where the best walks, hikes & rides are is to go to the IGN website (IGN - Institut Géographique National) where you can find and buy maps and books of France. The 'blue' series are the best for working out routes. For our area the best map numbers are 2140E,2240O, 2240E, 2139E & 2239O.
IGN also publish "Midi-Pyrenees- a pied" with 80 walks.
There is a book of 38 walks published & available locally which is excellent. Additionally, many villages including Parisot have sets of local walks.

We also have quite a large selection of walks that we, friends & neighbors have worked out and saved over time. These are available to our guests.
Here are just 3 examples. (In trying to keep the file sizes small quality has suffered somewhat. The printed versions are nice & sharp.)

walk around Caylus    walk around Paulhac    walk around La Rouquette

For good general maps, directions and local information Michelin is as always indispensable. Here they are on the web: ViaMichelin - find a Map

Finally, if you're going out the weather forecast is a handy thing to know.
