Down the path                

We don't think that this picture really does the view justice, but it does give one an idea of the openness and tranquility. Also, you can see part of our raised flower beds.  

This year we've put a lot of effort into creating a garden. We've done several new raised beds bordered by low walls in local stone. So far there are well over 100 new shrubs & bushes, several hundred bulbs, numerous roses and several vines.

UPDATE!  Everything has grown like mad! The garden is really come into its own this summer.

A new gate has been added to make the garden more secure for small children and we've added some new paths around the garden.

The new fencing around the pool complies with the French pool safety standards (AFNOR) and will fade into the background as the bushes & flowers grow.

The pavilion is something our guests  really appreciated last summer In French its an 'abri avec petit grange' which sounds much nicer than shed with wide porch

The pavilion gives a tiled shaded area for lounging when the sun gets just too hot or when the sunburn starts to sting.
