Parisot, a beautiful medieval village, is 5
minutes walk
and boasts 2 restaurants, 2 bread shops (both excellent),
a general store, pharmacy, Hairdresser and butcher.
Both restaurants offer good
meals at very reasonable
prices.
Lac Parisot is 5 minutes by car and is a great place for
swimming, boating,
fishing or games. It is in a
beautiful setting and has boat rental and a snack
bar. There are sheltered areas for smaller children
to wade & play as well as
tennis & basketball courts
A great place to have fun!
House hunting? We'll be glad to help with advice
and local knowledge.
As you go a bit further a field there are lots a places
to
explore. The
Aveyron
gorge is beautiful and great for canoeing and fishing; Najac is
a
classic hill town;
there are vineyards to visit in every direction; and more &
more.
Slightly further away are Albi, Cahor, Toulouse; each offering great
sights,
museums and history. Please go to our
links page to find much more
information
about the area and things to see & do.
On the practical side it is only 15 minutes to Villefranche with several large
supermarkets; there are outdoor markets within an easy drive most days of the
week. Especially useful is the Sunday market at St Antonin (15 minutes). This
is a great place to stock up when you arrive and to people watch over coffee &
croissants at the cafés!
Plenty to see and do, but we still think the best is to sit on the veranda
with a glass of wine and enjoy the view while reading a book or chatting with
the family or friends. As one of our visitors said last year; " One more week
of this & you would have never gotten me to leave." We agree!
